2019 Emmys

Predicting the Nominees

Foreword

The 2019 Emmy nominees will be announced on July 16th. I have listed my predictions for 21 major television categories below. In some cases I have included a "Maybe Also" footnote. This is because the exact number of nominees in the Emmy Awards is unknown. Most categories have 6 or 7 nominees by default, but could end up with 1 or even 2 more because of the extremely unpredictable "2 percent rule" which states that if the next most voted show is within 2 percent of the votes of the last nominee, it will also be nominated, up to a maximum of 9 total nominees.

Other notes to keep in mind: Writing and Directing category entrants are per-episode so some shows may receive more than one nomination. Also, while I am not making predictions for the "TV Movie" category, the acting/writing/directing awards in the Limited Series section are shared with TV Movies.
